University of Wollongong Sends Delegation to USTB
On November 11th a delegation led by Prof. Paul Wellings, president of University of Wollongong (UOW), paid a visit to USTB. USTB President Zhang Xinxin, Assistant President Prof. Wang Ge, Prof He Anrui from the Engineering Research Institute, Prof Yu Guanghua from the School of Materials and Engineering and Li Shuai, deputy director of the President’s Office, met with the delegation.
President Zhang expressed his welcome to the guests and gave an overview of the basic information on USTB, especially its latest developments in exchange and cooperation with other countries and regions. President Zhang expressed his hope that the renewal agreement would be a starting point to further promote substantial cooperation in research and education between the universities. President Wellings said UOW has much in common with USTB, including history, scientific expertise and international strategies. Over the past decade, USTB and UOW have built a close relationship in the fields of teacher exchanges, joint research and joint doctoral training. In the future, UOW hopes that the two universities will build a solid working relationship with each other to achieve a win-win situation.
After the meeting, USTB and MMU signed a cooperation agreement. In the renewal agreement, there are plans for a 2+2 program, teacher exchanges, co-hosting a symposium and a joint research center.
